The 1st competition day of the IPC Nording Skiing World Cup finished with the leadership of Ukraine Надіслати електронною поштою

dsc_2423_medium.jpgThe first competition day of the IPC cross-country skiing and biathlon World Cup, which is conducted in Ukraine for the first time, at the Western Rehabilitation and Sports Center, finished with undeniable leadership of Ukraine. Today, on the 13th  of January, 9 countries of 18 received high awards (Germany, Korea, Belarus, France, Austria, Ukraine, Japan, Finland, China). Team of Ukraine earned 2 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze medals. 1 gold medal  was earned by teams of Korea, France, Germany and Austria. Team of Belarus - 2 silver medals, the paralympian from Finland - 1 silver medal, Japan and China earned 1 bronze medal. 6 sets of medals were awarded in cross-country on the middle distance in the following categories: men sitting, women sitting, men standing, women standing, men with visual impairments, women with visual impairments.


In the men sitting category, which started first today, the winner among the men on the distance 5km became Sin Eui Hyun from Korea with the result 18:14.6. Ukrainians Yarovyi Maksym (18:30.9) and Rad Taras (18:50.8) took  the  second and the third step of the podium.

In the same category among women the gold award was earned by athlete from Germany, Eskau Andrea, with the best result on the distance 2,5 km - 10:17.6. The second place was taken by the  representative of Belarus, Hrafeyeva Lidziya with the result 10:49.0. The third step of the podium was won by Chu Beibei from China (11:20.0).

dsc_2989_medium.jpgIn the men standing category on the distance 7,5 km the first place was earned by representative of Ukraine Reptyukh Ihor, who has shown the best result  (26.12.9), having got ahead of the Tuomisto Ilkka  from Finland (26:27.1) and his compatriot Vovchynskyi Grigorii (26:56.8), who took the second and the third places correspondingly.

Gold and silver awards in the women sitting category on the distance 5 km were earned by representatives from Ukraine, Kononova Oleksandra with the result (19:53.1) and Batenkova Iuliia (20:04.9) The representative of Japan Abe Yurika took the third place in this category (21:19.3)

Clarion Thomas from France with his guide Bollet Antoine became the first on the distance 7,5 km in the category of men with visual impairments with the result  25:15.9. Silver award was earned by the athlete from Belarus Holub Yury and his guide Budzilovich D. (26:54.9) and bronze award by the athlete from Ukraine Suiarko Dmytro and his guide Potapenko Vasyl.

In the same category among women the first place was won by the representative from Austria Eddlinger Halyna with her guide Eddlinger J.J. with the result 21:52:9 (on the distance 5 km). Representatives  from Ukraine Prylutska Olha  (guide: Babar Borys) and Shyshkova Oksana (guide: Kazakov Vitalii) took the second and the third step of the podium correspondingly.

Recently we got the information that due to the severe weather conditions, competitions will be postponed to the day which was planned to be an off day (on Sunday). That's why teams will have an opportunity to have some rest and to gain strength before next starts. The day after tomorrow the competitions will be held according to the schedule.
