Biathlon events have successfully started on the IPC cross-country and biathlon World Cup

dsc_1639_medium.jpgThe first biathlon competition day of the IPC cross-country and biathlon World Cup, which has been running at the Western Rehabilitation and Sports Center for 4 days now, brought 6 new sets of awards in the long distance category. Among the representatives of 6 countries-medalists, Ukraine has 2 gold medals, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals; France - 2 gold medals; Norway - 1 gold and 1 silver medal; Germany - 1 gold and 2 bronze medals; Belarus - 3 silver medals; Japan - 1 silver medal.

In the men sitting category, which started the first today, the winner among the men became the Norwegian Larsen Trygve Steinar with the result 48:33.8. The second place has gone to the representative of Belarus Loban  Dzmitry (49:31) and the representative of Ukraine Rad Taras finished with the third result (49:47.7).

The traditional winner among women in the sitting category became the representative of Germany Eskau Andrea (49:11.5) and her compatriot Wicker Anja has shown the third result - 52:11.0.  Belarusian athlete Hrafeyeva Lidziya won the silver  medal (52:19.7)

In the men sitting category Daviet Benjamin from France took the first step (40:59.7), the second result has been shown by Ulset Nils-Erik from Norway (43:17.7) and the third step was taken by the Ukrainian Vovchynskyi Grygorii(43:58.4)

Traditionally the first position in the women sitting category was taken by  Kononova  Oleksandra from Ukraine with the result 45:40.9 and her compatriot Batenkova Iuliia became the third  (48:33.3),  the silver award was won by Japanese athlete Dekijima Momoko (48:09.2).

Among  men with visual impairments the golden medalist became Chalencon Anthony from France with his guide Valverde Simon (44:20.2), the silver medal has gone to Shaptsiaboi Vasili with his guide  Budzilovych Dzmitry with the result (44:58.2). The third  step of the podium was taken by the Ukrainian athlete Reshetynskyi Iaroslav and his guide Gergardt Artur (44:58.8)

Among women with visual impairments the first result has been traditionally shown by Shyshkova Oksana and his guide Kazakov Vitalii (45:06.4), the second result belongs to her compatriot Prylutska Olga and her guide Babar Borys (45:12.7). Klug Clara from Germany with her guide Hartl Martin took the third step of the podium with the result 47:09.0.

Tomorrow, the 18th of January is a free day. At 10:00 an official training is going to take place, for the athletes to prepare for the next starts on the 19th of January. We wish everybody have a good rest and successful preparation for the next competition day.
